Our Story

The organization's genesis can be traced back to the profound and personal experiences of its founding director, Madam Odda Ohawa Howard. Her journey began when she was widowed at a tender age in Kenya, following the tragic loss of her beloved husband in a road accident. With five children, ranging in age from two to ten years, to care for, Odda faced an arduous path ahead.

In search of a better life, Odda left Kenya and embarked on a challenging journey southward to Botswana before ultimately making her way to the United States. In this foreign land, she grappled with the complexities of a new culture and traditions she struggled to comprehend, all while being responsible for the well-being of her five children.

It was the resilience and determination she displayed during those early years in the United States that inspired her to establish this nonprofit organization. Her mission was clear: to assist newly arrived immigrants in navigating the intricate terrain of life in America, just as she had once done herself.

Today, Madam Odda's children have grown and achieved independence, a testament to her unwavering dedication as a caregiver. She has transitioned into the role of an owner-operator, managing two highly successful residential assisted-living homes. In addition to this, she dedicates a substantial portion of her time to nurturing and expanding this nonprofit initiative.

Her journey from tribulation to triumph serves as a powerful testament to her commitment to making a difference in the lives of those facing similar challenges
